PM Orbán: Anti-paedophile law about protecting children, parents
Hungary’s new law against paedophilia stipulates that the sexual education of children is the responsibility of parents alone, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said ahead of a two-day meeting of European Union leaders in Brussels on Thursday, adding that the law served to protect both children and parents.
Speaking to reporters, Orbán said it was an “honour” for Hungary whenever another prime minister or the president of the European Council expressed interest in one of its laws.
Orbán said he was prepared to explain that the new law was not about homosexuality, but rather about the sex education of children.
The prime minister said it was “always better to read first” before reacting to a piece of legislation.
He said the law was about protecting parents’ right to decide on the sexual education of their children. “And the state’s job is to create the conditions for parents to be able to practise these rights,” Orbán said. “This is a law aimed at protecting children and parents.”
The prime minister said he was a “fighter” for gay rights. In the communist regime, “homosexuality was punished and I fought for their freedom and their rights,” Orbán said.
“So I am defending the rights of the homosexual guys, but this law is not about that.”
On another subject, Orbán praised the performance of Hungary’s national football team in its draw against Germany in their Euro 2020 group F match on Wednesday.
He cautioned against mixing sports with politics, saying that doing so risked excluding those with culturally opposing views.

All children are precious in Hungary. Parents are responsible of bringing up well adjusted and happy children. Conflicting information should not bombard young children. The message from education establishments should not be in conflict. It is important that sex education teachers should be well qualified and ensure that no one has the right to sexually abuse children.
Brainwashing children is unacceptable. In the US, CTR is used to convince black children that they are victims and all white children are racist oppressors. University students are forced to agree with Marxist philosophies, encouraged rioting instead of concentrating on a valuable curriculum at a great price.
In Wester EU and US often, confused young adults are convinced that their problem arises from having the wrong body. Damaging hormone therapies, life altering surgeries are performed on children, whose brains are not developed. This sometimes results in suicides.
What happens in the US is uniform through western EU. The question that is apparent “Who is abusing children?. It is not Hungary. Mr. Orban made the right decision. Every adult has the right to chose their life style and should never be persecuted for their choice, THE OPERATIVE WORD IS ADULT !
True, I’ve been educated by my parents about sexuality and I think everyone has been pre 2000s. The outcry of the western European leaders is a disgrace, they cherry pick something that’s in the law and all start saying it could be discriminatory, Give me a bloody break. Look into what’s being written in the school books in the USA, teachings about sex, how to have anal sex etc in books targeted at 5-10 years old. Would you like your children to be teached about this?
Ask any parent, would you have your little boy or daughter be destroyed by a sick, maladjusted individual.
The answer is as clear as day, of course not.
What I fail to understand is: Why does the EU and the left are trying to associate and blend homosexuality with the criminals called child-molesters.
I think the homosexual community should object very strongly against this association.
I think Mr Orban explained things very calmly and clearly, Other EU leaders should take note of what he is saying, we have gone too far in taking notice of everything minority groups complain about, its about time we had some more right leaning sensible leaders, who don’t spout out about any perceived offences they may seem to have
Funny. “HUNGARY: Being saucy, the country has the most porn stars per capita”. Our claim to (world) fame. And obviously we have significant pedophile issues as well. Will we also be addressing porn?
